Retro Cool By the Pool

I'm so in love with the look and style of retro inspired swim wear. It's so feminine and glamorous. I like the idea of swim wear being kind of like an outfit for the beach and these styles definitely make a statement. Just because at times they can be cut a little more conservative than the mainstream swim wear styles, doesn't mean they can't be just as sexy. Norma Kamali I think is the designer who has the retro meets modern swimwear style on lock. Her designs are gorgeous! She designed the swimsuit Miranda wore in the first Sex and the City movie. (Check out more of her designs here.) She actually has a few swimsuits on her Walmart line, but sadly they don't measure up to anything comparable to the images below, and actually don't feature any retro inspired styles. [insert sad face here]

Gorgeous!!
Since I don't have the bucks to spend $300 on a swimsuit, I combed the Internet and found some great style for under $100 and  most under $50. These styles look great with a big pair of shades, a floppy hat and a great pair of wedges!

Bisou Bisou Twisted Halter & Skirt, JCP.com $18 each

Suddenly Slim by Catalina Swimsuit, Walmart.com $32

Mossimo Women's Crochet Swimsuit, Target $35

Purple Meadow Flower One Piece with scoop back, Topshop.com $60
