It's Nifty to be Thrifty

One of my addictions is thrift shopping. Whether it be finding deals on ebay or going to an actual thrift store. I love taking things from the past and transforming it into a brand new look. If you aren't hip to thrift shopping, you should definitely check it out. There are many  places to go such as Goodwill, Salvation Army, Savers and other stores that might be in your area. Also, you can check out cosignment stores such as Crossroads Trading Co. and The Buffalo Exchange. These stores let you buy, sell and trade clothes. Here, you'll find a range of more trendier clothes based upon the stores buying policies. It's a great way to get a good deal on slghtly used designer clothes from past seasons or newer clothes that someone has sold for whatever reason. If you're new to thrift and cosignment shopping here a few things that'll help you out on your search.

  • Try Everything On: Looks can be deceiving and remember cuts, styles and also sizes have changed within recent years so you're best bet is to try it on to make sure it fits properly.
  • Have an open mind: Some things may not look right until you try them on. Give everything the benefit of the doubt. You might find something you really love but wouldn't have considered.
  • Make sure you have time to shop: Thrifting can be hard at first so make sure you allot yourself enough time to thoroughly look around and try stuff on.
  • Check to see if the store has any specials: Some thrift stores have special days where they offer a percentage off. Go on these days to maximize your spending. Also, cosignment stores generally give you more value when you trade in your clothes for store credit rather than taking cash.

Have fun and Happy Hunting!!
