Lux Rewind: Topshop's Victoria Beaded Flat

Back in April I did a post about Topshop's Victoria Flat. Beyonce was seen strolling the street wearing them and I thought they were absolutely adorable, but they were $50 so I decided to turn it into a fun DIY project. Do It Yourself: T-Shirt Necklace

I had the DIY itch again and decided to make this T-Shirt Necklace which was featured on Martha Stewart's Wholeliving.com

These are super cute, and surprisingly quick and easy to make. I followed the instructions exactly, using a T-Shirt from an old Forever21 (97% cotton, 3% spandex). Once it was done I didn’t like how my seams at the bottom of the necklace looked so I decided to grab a strip of fabric from my craft bin (yes, I have one) and wrapped the end. I loved the look of this, it adds a little more pizazz to the project. Also, I had one strip that stretched longer than the rest so I looped it around the other strands to creat the “twisted” look. I also thought about adding studs to this as another alternative, I may make another on and try that out.  I had fun making this, hope you will too!

DIY: Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy Studded Shirt

I have been racking my brain trying to think of a fun DIY project and could think of nothing. Then while thinking about fall essentials I thought about plaid, *light bulb*, I randomly remembered earlier this year Kanye West sporting a Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy stud tartan shirt from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Plaid is great for fall and I thought this would be a fun project! Of course, the shirt was for a mens collection, but I definitely thing this look plays in well with a rocker chic look. Pair this with your favorite pair of jeans and some combat boots and you're good to go!

Here's what you need:

A plaid shirt, I snagged this Derek Heart flannel top from DD's Discounts for $10, you can also find it here. Another good idea is to find a plaid shirt from a thrift store.

Studs. I had studs already in my craft kit from earlier projects, you can snag these online here or on ebay. I used only one size that were fairly small, but you could mix up the sizes and shapes of the studs for a look that more closely resembles the Givenchy shirt.

A pair of pliers, for closing the studs. You can find these at your local craft store.

Directions: It's pretty simple you can map out a pattern or freestyle one. Put as many or as little studs on the shirt as you want. Once you're satisfied with the results, you're done!

Here's mine, I decided to keep it pretty simple. Total cost  = less than $20!

**Tip: Try on the shirt frequently while applying the studs. The designs will look slightly different on, due to the fit.
